2018 January 1st - December 31st Toronto and environs - Home 👍

January 6th. And so it begins

Dateline: 2018

December 31st Toronto, Ontario

This trips travelling map

Just another year, Family,

January - December

Looks like my attempt at a paneer
Great colour, but needs work (a lot)
Grovelling to fix the super smart
faucet

Yes, the faucet that only I want to
use as it should be used

Obviously not a busy year. February 12th
The Newts have sent me the key to their Sigean house
I intend to use it

We attend Gerry's sisters nuptials. She's severely disabled
and has lived in this care home since she was 18
Busy year so far huh?

Late March, not quite spring. Just wait folks
l finally get the idea that I'm never
going to get another consulting gig

Time to offload the paraphernalia

I had such a blast designing systems around
these units. Oh well, the way of all flesh

Being a tech, this was like loosing a good friend

April 1st. FREE AT LAST!.
Well, just to my usual stomping grounds

Toronto, Pre spring, somewhen in early April on a long bike ride down to the lighthouse

Here was the Europe trip: see additional Bloglettes

June, once again,
the bike path is my trusted friend

This is the annual Naked Bike run
Yep, everyone is mostly) naked, riding a bike.
June  9th

As ever, another bum shot

Looks like a standard non eventful summer
creeping up

There's a viewing seat made out of bits of dumping materials at
the lighthouse

Kayla, Ish, Laura and Aiden. The kids and significant others
It finally feels like we have a complete family

The lighthouse is definitely a major part of my life now

My main escape. Tommy Thompson and environs

Yeah Yeah! Get over it. This is where I run away to. And why not? July 7th

I still find these shot
quite magical

Bored? Not me

On one of my returns from a bike ride, I  decide to join the National Yacht Club
August 9th. Evening cruise.
Holy CRAP! It's Ron.

Another National cruising evening, here with Ron and Bill
Don't remember him at all back here.

Only remember Bill on this trip
I believe its where I signed up
Ron's boat before he had to relinquish
it as penance for his lifestyle so far

A variety of inexperience's on this scratch
crew

But everyone is inexperienced originally
Yep, definitely a low profile Ron

I do remember being
totally

inadequate out here.
We all were, but I loved
just
being out

But no experience or a lot.
It was a lovely introduction

As you can see. Lots of pix. A beginners event

I think I'd only just joined a week or so earlier
So probably by first enjoyable sail at the club

Only remember getting the
form to sign

OKA are in town and put on a gig for die hard fans at Union station. July 21st

Out for another cruise courtesy National
There were quite a few in these
first weeks of membership.

And why not? A usual sight now

Here we headed off to UK for nostagia and the Edinburgh Feastival

It's so wonderful having the house as a constant fulcrum for us

The kids have a party
Beer Pong, whatever that was
Guess who ends up with the clean up
I share the delights of the
lighthouse with Richard
September 3rd

Then, we are off to Taiwan, Philippines, Indonesia, Australia and Hawaii before returning for Christmas

Probably Denver
We had so much luggage, we flew
first class from Hawaii as it was cheaper

Your correspondents very own
 hand made (very well made)
aitransit box
December 16th
And here's what we went all the
way to Melbourne for
Against all the odds, it made it back safely

Of course it was worth it

The usual Christmas day excess.
Ishvan was in Emerg for about 12 hours, eventually
having his (burst) appendix out

Ishvan who is Kayla's boyfriend and a regular
in-house, develops appendicitis on Christmas day.
Yep, no doctor, so it ruptures. Ouch!
Eventually, we get a new car

And so 2018 drifts into history.
The family finally coalescing into something reminiscent of a viable whole, I've decided that others should take up the emotional slack I have created by taking a break from being the care being
This may not end well
